Current Initiatives At A Glance
Thanks for all those who took our January 2017 survey. We heard you loud and clear. Results from that survey helped us greatly in setting the agenda for this year.
Going Digital:
62% of you opted for effective email communication and functioning website including mobile support.

We now have a brand new website - built from scratch, desktop and mobile friendly SPA application.

You can renew your membership and pay for it right from the home page.

Events page is your one-stop shop for viewing, registering, and paying (when necessary) for all RTS events through out the year. We have packed calendar already for 2017. Take a look. Bookmark it.

Music-For-A-Cause concert:
70% of you opted for focusing on charitable causes.

We have added a new event to our calendar: 1st Annual Music-For-A-Cause concert.

The event will feature both classical music and tamil popular music.
-
This will be ticketed and reserved/numbered seating event.

We will raise funds during this event for a yet-to-be-determined charity.

EC may pre-select some charity organizations. But everyone of you will have the final say (via a transparent survey) in determining the beneficiary of this fund raising effort.
Youth Program:
81% of you opted for expanding our teen/youth programs.

We will continue hiking and clinics/competition for soccer, tennis, and chess.

We have started the work to explore and organize an event where our teens can contribute meaningfully to a local volunteering program. More to come on this.

We have also partnered with the few likeminded personalities within our community to do a workshop/competition for out teens on entrepreneurship and science/tech areas.
Tamil School Accreditation:

We have started the preliminary work on getting our Tamil School accredited by AdvancedEd
-
This is a Multiyear non-trivial process

If we succeed, it will enable our kids to get credit towards county high school course work

Miscellaneous Items:

Emanuel Thalaivar, Shekar Veerappan, and Padmanabhan Sundaram have graciously agreed to serve in the RTS Advisory Board.

Membership fees will remain the same. $30 for families and $20 for individuals.

Kids 6 and under will continue receiving participation trophies. Older kids will get medals. Competition winners will always receive trophies.
